That came unexpected: In a simple Twitter notification, the Finnish Studio Remedy announced the return of Max Payne. Both the first part Max Payne (2001) and the successor Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne (2003) are newly developed as complete remakes **. Both games are to be bundled to a single title. This renew Remedy and Publisher Rockstar Games their business relationships, who began 21 years ago with the first Max Payne. “We were excited when our old friends of Remedy made the proposal to develop Remakes of the original Max Payne games,” says Sam Houser, co-founder and president of Rockstar Games, in a public communication. “We are huge fans of what Remedy has created over the years, and can not wait to play these new versions [from Max Payne].” Also Tero Virtala, the CEO of Remedy, speaks itself: “Max Payne always had a special place in our hearts here at Remedy. And we know that millions of fans feel the same. We are scary, again with our partners To work with Rockstar Games to bring back the story, action and atmosphere of the original Max Payne games to a new way. “
The original Max-Payne games have built up, especially through their innovative bullet-time slow motion access and their gloomy stories, a large fan base. Both the first part as well as Max Payne 2 (Buy Now / 9.99 €) have received very good ratings and shaped many other action matches with their stylish battles. You can still buy both games today and play:
